Rork Alternatives in 2026: 7 Options Compared

Seven Rork alternatives for building mobile apps with AI, compared on output, price, code export and store publishing. Sourced; AppX is our product.

Disclosure: AppX, one of the seven, is our product. Every statement about Rork and the other tools comes from their own pricing pages and docs, read on 3 October 2026 and linked at the end.

Short answer. The main Rork alternatives in 2026 are AppX, RapidNative, a0.dev, Bloom, CatDoes, Bolt and Replit. All seven still generate Expo / React Native apps, which matters because Rork's docs say new Rork projects are now native Swift and Kotlin instead. AppX has the lowest entry price ($5 a month, code ZIP included). RapidNative and Bolt have free plans. a0.dev and Replit upload to App Store Connect from inside the builder.

Why people look for a Rork alternative

Rork is a strong product, and for some people it is still the right pick (see the end of this article). The usual reasons to look elsewhere, based on what Rork's own docs say today:

  1. You want one React Native codebase. Rork's docs state: "You can no longer create Expo (React Native) projects in Rork." New iPhone apps are Swift and new Android apps are Kotlin, as two separate codebases in one project. Existing Expo projects keep working.
  2. You want a free plan that builds a working app. Rork's free plan covers Design mode only. Turning a design into a working app needs a paid plan.
  3. You want a lower entry price. Rork Pro is $20 a month for 100 credits. Rork Max, which adds iPad, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, games and widgets, starts at $200 a month.
  4. You want the code without GitHub. Rork exports through its GitHub integration on paid plans.

Rork's marketing FAQ (rork.com/faq) still described Rork Pro as React Native + Expo, with paid plans from $25, on the day we checked. Its docs and plans page say otherwise; we followed the docs.

The seven alternatives

1. AppX: one Expo project, from $5 a month

You describe the app, AppX plans the screens first, then builds in milestones. You see it in a web preview and on your own phone with Expo Go, and change anything by chatting. Every plan, including Basic at $5 a month, lets you download the full Expo SDK 54 + React Native project as a ZIP. If a first build fails, you aren't charged. Measured on real builds: a 2-screen water tracker used 16 credits and a 5-screen recipe app 29.

Limits: publishing on the App Store or Google Play is done with a real person at a written price, not automatically. AppX apps don't include push notifications, maps or background location yet. No free plan.

2. RapidNative: free plan, React Native output

RapidNative outputs React Native and Expo and previews with Expo Go. The free plan gives 20 credits a month and 5 screens per project. Code export starts at $20 a month. Store submission is a separate flat-fee service with public prices.

3. a0.dev: Expo with a built-in store upload

a0 builds on Expo, tests through its own iOS app or Expo Go on Android, and has a deployment screen that builds and uploads to your App Store Connect account. Pro is $20 a month for 100 credits. Its docs note that payments and ads can't be tested in the preview apps and need a native build.

4. Bloom: Expo with a Convex backend

Every Bloom app is an Expo frontend plus a Convex backend, exported as a ZIP from the $20 plan, with two-way GitHub sync from the $50 plan. Shared links open as an App Clip on iPhone. New accounts currently join a waitlist, and store publishing means exporting and running Expo EAS yourself.

5. CatDoes: apps and websites from one agent

CatDoes builds React Native Expo apps and websites and includes a managed backend on all plans. iOS and Android builds need the $50 Starter plan and your own Expo account. Code export is on higher plans (CatDoes says Plus and above).

6. Bolt: if you also build for the web

Bolt creates an Expo project when your first prompt asks for a mobile app, and previews it in Expo Go. Its free plan includes 1M tokens a month. Publishing is manual: you download the code and run Expo's EAS tools on your own computer.

7. Replit: a full workspace with an iOS launch flow

Replit's Agent builds Expo apps, previews in Expo Go, and has a Launch flow that signs and uploads to App Store Connect. Its docs say publishing on Google Play is not yet supported.

When to stay with Rork

Stay with Rork, or pick it over every alternative here, if:

  • You want native SwiftUI and Kotlin, not React Native.
  • You need widgets, Apple Watch, iPad or Vision Pro apps (Rork Max).
  • You want submission from inside the builder with no Mac: Rork builds and uploads on its own machines.
  • You already have an Expo project in Rork. The docs say it keeps working, and Rork can rebuild it in Swift next to the original.

FAQ

What is the best Rork alternative?

For the lowest price with code included, AppX. For a free plan, RapidNative or Bolt. For a built-in upload to App Store Connect on an Expo stack, a0.dev or Replit.

Which Rork alternatives still use Expo and React Native?

All seven in this article: AppX, RapidNative, a0.dev, Bloom, CatDoes, Bolt and Replit.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Rork?

AppX Basic is $5 a month for 100 credits, against $20 a month for Rork Pro. Credits are not the same unit in both, so compare by what you build.

Can I move a Rork app to another builder?

Rork's docs say paid users can export code through GitHub. Whether another builder can import and continue that project is a question for that builder; we have not tested it and make no claim.

Does Rork still support Expo projects?

Existing ones, yes. Rork's docs say you can still build, publish and export them. New projects are Swift, Kotlin or web.
